The pink rose was pretty, but I guess the white rose was too… If only I could remember which I had taken last time. I ended up buying both of them, which honestly, was probably what I did end up doing the last time as well.

Katherine:

Aurora:

Yeah, yeah, stop nagging me. Moonlight, Dawn, any of you coming?

Carnival:

Can’t! Watchin’ My Little Pony!

Aurora:

Right.

I looked at Moonlight, who also shook her head.

Katherine:

Come on then, we don’t have all day!

I sighed and followed her as fast as I could bother and got inside the car. Katherine jumped inside the driver’s seat and started the car.

Aurora:

Why are you so impatient today? You want to go home to play Silent Hill or something?

Katherine:

I have negotiations today with FUCKING Microsoft, for YOUR company, may I had. Which you’d know if you paid any attention to the post-its I put in your room every day.

Aurora:

Oh, right… that. Yeah, it’s going to be fine, they love us.

Katherine glared at me.

Katherine:

Microsoft.

Aurora:

Yeah, yeah.

I left Katherine to her driving and I spend the rest of the trip just observing the ever changing landscape.

She stopped near the cemetery and, as soon as we were getting out, her phone rang. She looked at it.

Katherine:

Oh, it’s from Aurora Corp, I’ll take it, you can go in front.

Aurora:

What? No. It’s from my company, I’ll take care of it.

Katherine:

It’s fine, it’s fine, I’m your secretary, I handle this. If I need something I’ll go get you, alright?

Aurora:

You sure.

Katherine:

Always sure, cupcake.

Aurora:

Alright…

I got out of the car and walked my way to Sarah’s grave. Someone seemed to have put some flowers not too long ago… Her parents, I’d hope.

I left mine there as well and I sat in front of the grave.

Aurora:

‘Sup…

No answer.

Aurora:

Did you hated me?

No answer.

Aurora:

Did you? I hope you didn’t. I really, really didn’t meant to. I just… thought… I was afraid… I knew that, in the end, it would always be you that would end up with Joshua, it would always be you that would end up happy.

And I wanted that happiness! That’s all I ever wanted… that’s all that I still want. Happiness. But in my way to get it I forgot about other people’s happiness… your happiness.

I ruined everything, and I never got the time to fix it up.

Actually, no, that’s a lie. I had the time, I had years to fix it up, but I just kept breaking it more and more and I only realized that I should have stopped when it was too late.

And now I can’t do shit. You’re not here and I did it… and I can’t undo it.

I finished the call but I decided not to go right away. Aurora always liked to have some time alone with Sarah.

I heard a knocking on the mirror. I looked and saw a bearded man with long, dirty hair. I opened the mirror to shut him off.

Katherine:

I’m sorry but I don’t have any coins to give. Oh, and don’t think about scratching the car, bro, you’re going to regret it.

The man laughed.

Oh, Kat, Kat. I’m sorry, I don’t want money or anything, I just wanted to talk to you.

The man must have seen the surprise on my face because he chuckled again. We stared right into each other’s eyes.

Katherine:

Joshua.

Joshua:

Bingo. Don’t worry, I won’t be long. Just wanted to ask one last time.

Katherine:

You can’t stop it right there.

Joshua raised his arms.

Joshua:

Fine, but just you know, something’s going to happen, and most likely sooner rather than later. And if you’re still at Aurora’s side you might get involved too...

Katherine:

What are you planning.

Joshua:

That I cannot say.

Katherine:

Of course you can’t. So, old friend, why now?

Joshua:

I just finally met someone who thinks like me.

Katherine:

Is that so? May I know who that is.

Joshua:
