The faint knock on my door distracted me from my guitar playing. I turned around in time to see my youngest sister walking in.
Aurora:
Hey, Moon Moon, whatcha need?
Moonlight looked around the room and then sat near me, she was carrying her UKWF Tag Team Title on her shoulder, which was pretty rare to see around the house, unlike some other people that are named Dawn and that never stop walking around with that thing…
Moonlight:
You heard the rumours about UKWF right?
Aurora:
The ones that say that it’s closing down?
Moonlight:
Yeah, I thought you’d know more about it than I did.
Aurora:
It seems that will be the case, for now… But nothing’s certain yet, so don’t you go giving up next match.
Moonlight:
Not in my plans, especially not while I have this on my possession.
Moonlight eyed the title on her shoulder. I smirked and nodded.
Moonlight:
I was more wondering about what’s next, then. What do you want to do from now on, Rory?
Aurora:
Me?
I looked around. That was a hard question. Would I want to keep managing my sisters? To be honest, no, that wasn’t what I wanted at all. I wanted to wrestle… I guess.
I looked at the guitar near my feet for all but a second, but it seemed that a second was enough for Moonlight to catch that glimpse.
Moonlight:
Music.
Aurora:
What now?
Moonlight:
Music. Is that what you want to do?
Aurora:
What? Uh… no. No. That’s… nah. I can’t do it. Not after all that happened. I can’t.
Moonlight:
I asked what you wanted to do, not what you “could” do.
Aurora:
Oh, I’ll find something, maybe I’ll bother Jason a bit and find other wrestling company. Either way, I still have Aurora Corp. to manage. That isn’t as easy to do as I make it seem.
Moonlight:
Right…
Aurora:
What about you? What do YOU want to do next?
Moonlight:
I’ve been thinking hard about that…
Moonlight looked at her title again and sighed, then grabbed it and handed it to me.
Moonlight:
I think I want to quit after UKWF. All the fame and acknowledgement I got, and all the titles, they were fun, and it was nice to follow Aunt Green’s footsteps. But this isn’t for me.
Aurora:
How is it not for you? You’re the best out of all of us!
Moonlight:
I’m good at it, yes. But I feel no joy from it. I want to go back and finish my studies, go to university and have a degree like you both. I wanna do something helpful to the world.
Aurora:
Like what?
Moonlight:
I’ve been wondering that, but I think I know what I want… I wanna be a police officer.
I looked at her, with her serious face on, and then the title that she was extending to me. I grabbed the title and nodded.
Aurora:
Do whatever makes you happy, sis.
She nodded and got up.
Moonlight:
You do too, alright?
We both found ourselves eyeing my guitar.
Aurora:
Alright. I’ll do it.
