UKWF UNVEIL NEW LOGO, REVEAL SUPERSHOW WEEKEND
by Rebecca Leavenworth
The United Kingdom Wrestling Federation held a press conference yesterday, at their headquarters in London, where they made the British fighting sports press aware of several developments within the company.
Part-owner and General Manager James Kensington presided, and began by revealing reigning North Sea Champion Kincaid has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of the company's welfare policy. Mr. Kensington declined to go into detail about the nature of the violation, but assured the assembled press that he and the rest of management were carefully considering the best route to take in finding an opponent for James Edwards, who cashed in his Broadcast Championship for a shot at the title, and will therefore be competing for it regardless of opponent.
The chairman then went on to reveal details about the company's summer super-card. While the name of the event is still a work in progress, Mr. Kensington has stated his intentions to make a two-night summertime event a fixture of UKWF's schedule, similar to the winter supershow, Challenge of Champions. Details about the matches on the card are scarce at this point, due to the fluid nature of UKWF's different divisions, but the assembled press was told to expect a two-night extravaganza some time in June. Mr. Kensington did reveal, however, the supercard would take place in one of the most popular resorts in the British Northeast, Scarborough, and have a seaside and beach theme.
Before the conference was adjourned, there was still one more surprise in store, as the chairman revealed a new look for the company's logo.
Mr. Kensington stated the new logo reflected the evolution of the UKWF brand since its inception in March 2016, and was in line with the company's expansion towards a more global market.
