“Let you down” by Seether starts playing in the P.A System, while the lights go out and a spot light appears in front of the curtain.

Erik Scorpion comes out of the curtain giving his back to the ring, extending the right side of his black leather jacket with his hand.

Beat down in fear and paralyzed

In this assisted suicide
Scorpion turn around, still extending the right side of his jacket with his hand and gives a smirk to the public as a slight laugh escapes him. He then starts walking towards the ring.

Scorpion continues his walk towards the ring, but takes a brief pause to look around. As he sees some fans extending their hands, trying to touch him, he ignores them, getting out of the way, avoiding any kind of contact with the fans.

Scorpion runs towards the ring and slides, and just as the chorus is nearing the end, while kneeling, he puts his knuckles together, spelling “STAY DOWN”
I will only let you down.
Erik Scorpion gets up and as the song continues he just stands in a corner waiting for the match to start.
Personality (a brief description of your wrestler as a person and an athlete):
- Erik Scorpion, the wrestler, is very different from Eric Rodríguez the athlete behind the character. While the athlete is very respectful and knows a lot about the history of wrestling; the character, Erik Scorpion, is not as much. Once Rodríguez goes thru the curtain and into the ring, the character takes over and for him the only thing that matters is the show, not his safety, not the history, not even the respect for others… as long as it means, putting up the best show possible.
Gimmick: Generic Cocky Guy that believes he’s above everyone else.

Biography (extended background on your character):
Eric Rodríguez, better known to the initiated as Erik Scorpion, is an American wrestler from Cuban descent. From a very young age, Eric, was fascinated by the entertainment business. He loved everything that had to do with the flashiness of being a celebrity or a well-known athlete. He saw himself as someone that could make it big someday and kept pushing himself to be at least passable in terms of personality. Eric was always sort of a loner and that hindered him a bit when it came to perform in school plays and what not. All of that changed once he took a couple of theatre and writing classes, which helped him learn how to develop a character and stay in character.
Using that as a platform the performance part of himself started to develop and he started to shine in plays, but still, he didn’t saw himself as an actor. He wanted to be considered an athlete. As a kid took on a variety of sports, always performing well, but he was never the star piece of any team. At most he was a good role player. Eric didn’t know what to do in order to fulfill his dream and that was when he discovered wrestling, mostly, the performative aspect of wrestling. He knew that his athletic background couldn’t get him anywhere as a professional in any sport, but combined with his prowess as a reader and an actor, could make for a decent enough wrestler.
Soon after graduating from High School he started training to become a wrestler, at the same time he went to college to pursue a degree in literature and modern languages from the University of Miami. It was after a year of training that he made his debut as a wrestler on an indy promotion in Florida and ever since he kept wrestling around the state, never traveling too far, due to college commitments. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, he decided wrestling was the one thing he wanted to do the most, so he took wrestling as his full time job and here we find him.
