As Gaia trotted angrily through the curtains, still pained from earlier, she felt someone pushing back at her in her berserker rage. How could her teammates do this to her? That was exactly why she had been so distant with them. She lashed out at whomever it was, striking them in the face with a swift forearm to the chin. They stumbled back about a half a step, but it looked like they were preparing to make a move towards her. She wasn’t about to let somebody else get one over on her. Not tonight.
: “Whoa whoa whoa WHOA! HEY! Easy…”
That voice. Gaia's sight cleared. A familiar blue and red mask was there before her; Madman Szalinski. He holds his hands out to block her path, attempting to make her more perceptive to reason.
Madman Szalinski: “What are you doing?”
She still felt the ache on her forearm from where she had caught Madman in the face. If her forearm was hurting, his jaw probably felt worse. Madman swished his mouth, making a funny face.
Madman Szalinski: “I think you made me bite my tongue. Motherfucking socks on cocks! What the fuck you trying to do? Talk to me here! What are you going to go prove?”
Galanos, finally over her astonishment over his ability to still stand, seemed a bit irritated by Madman's question.
Gaia Galanos: "I'm going to go back there and teach all of them a lesson."
Was she thinking? No, but Madman had been in her shoes before. So, he figured he might share his view on the situation that Gaia clearly wasn't seeing at the moment.
Madman Szalinski: “Yes. Yes, you are. But not like this, you’re not.”
Madman is very cautious and hesitant about taking his hands off Gaia’s shoulders. Her eyes watched his hands before looking at him.
Gaa Galanos: “Did you see what they did to me out there? I will not ever-”
Madman cut her off before she continued mainly because Gaia was already beginning to push past him again.
Madman Szalinski: “Okay, okay….”
Madman’s hands went back to Gaia’s shoulders. The two soon were locked in a stalemate of attrition.
Madman Szalinski: “You’re like one of those fucking Snu-Snu women in that one episode of Futurama! God damn son!”
At this point, it was impossible for Gaia to keep a straight face at that. She was so angry just a split second ago, but now she was laughing. Soon, Madman joins her and finally the tension has broken down.
Gaia Galanos: “I really hate you right now.”
Gaia was thinking properly now. She knew had she actually gone back there, she would have just gotten beaten down for a second time tonight. Madman had saved her from that, and she knew it. She wouldn’t ever come out and actually say thank you. In her mind, she uttered the words: ‘thank you’ whether Szalinski knew it or not.
Madman Szalinski: “Just wait. I’m sure I’ll top that someday.”
With everything a little bit easier going, Madman gestures for the two of them to move away from the curtain.
Madman Szalinski: “Come on, let me explain this to you really quick.”
With Madman taking a small lead, the two begin to walk away from the main entrance.
Madman Szalinski: “Those two just did you the greatest favor in the world.”
Puzzled, Gaia just stared at him for a moment, waiting for him to continue explaining.
Madman Szalinski: “They just saved you the trouble of having to break away from them. If your teammates weren’t holding you back, they were going to sooner or later. Now you’re free of that dead weight. And I’m not saying they’re bad wrestlers. You’re just better than that...you’re more than midcard stable. It’s about time we start to get you where you belong, and that’s not third on the card. You with me here?”
For some reason, Gaia was skeptical about what Madman was saying.
Gaia Galanos: “Of course I am because I just took the World Champion to her limit. I had that match won! And, they… they...”
She began to think about how her own stablemates had turned on her out there. Gaia pivoted her hips and struck the wall. Because of her adrenaline, it didn’t bother her much on impact, but Gaia knew she’d regret hitting that cinderblock later. Madman just shook his head, rubbing his temples.
Madman Szalinski: “Yeah, we’re going to have to work on that…did you break the cocksuckin’ thing? You feel better?”
She looked at her hand and shrugged.
Gaia Galanos: “For now.”
What he might not have gathered is that Gaia was actually referring to the fact that her hand wasn’t hurting yet.
Madman Szalinski: “Now imagine if the wall could hit back.”
Gaia rolled her eyes, but ended up following Madman Szalinski down the hall despite that. For some reason, she was drawn to talk to him.
Madman Szalinski: “Anyways...as I was saying, you more than likely know what I’m doing here. I liked this place so much I bought half of it way back when we did dance halls every other week. I’ve seen it grow into what it is today. I watched it grow, and people like you MAKE it grow. What happened tonight was just the beginning. You want revenge, you want blood, I get it. But revenge is just like barbecue ribs. It’s best slow cooked. And you’re not going to waste a perfectly good rack of ribs by boiling them on the stove. You’re going to take your time, keep this conversation in mind, and I promise you that you will be standing over top of every single one of those bitches...and since one of those women happens to be holding a very important piece of gold, I think you know what that means.…”
