Before the big main-event title match is set to begin, another video package is shown, detailing the rivalry between Gaia Galanos, Night Train Ayano and the Master Sisters. Lasting for almost as long as the company itself, this rivalry is recapped through a series of snippets of footage, from an initial standard tag match to the far more heated WarGames, as well as singles confrontations between Gaia Galanos and Moonlight Master. The package ends on the moment when, having had the best of their opponents post-match, the Master Sisters attack Gaia and Night Train with a ladder and challenge them to a TLC match for their belts. It is to that match, the main event of the evening, that the feed cuts a moment later!
UKWF Tag Team Championships Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match: Hunt by Night (c) v The Master Sisters
Before the match, the camera pans in on the two belts hanging from hooks above the ring. It then pans down to where the two teams are glowering daggers at one another, barely separated by the match referee. It comes as no surprise, then, that the two sets of wrestlers lunge at one another before the bell has even finished ringing!
As might have been expected, the two initial pairings are relatively well-matched in terms of size, with Gaia Galanos and Moonlight Master slugging it out while Carnival Master faces off against the smaller member of Hunt by Night, Night Train Ayano. Both brawls are remarkably even, with neither side being able to gain the upper hand for a long moment – that is, until Carnival sneaks in a poke to Night Train's eye, and sends her flying with a dropkick!
Seeing her chance, the smallest of the Master Sisters immediately slips out of the ring to rummage under the apron, looking to bring out one of the three legal types of weapons allowed in this match-up. She has yet to locate either a table, a ladder or a chair, however, when she is sent hurtling to the concrete by a suicide dive from the recovered Night Train! Both women go down in a heap, and the introduction of weapons is put off, at least for the time being!
As such, fans' attention once again turns to Gaia and Moonlight, who are still trading punches all around the ring. Eventually, in an attempt to gain the upper hand for herself, Moonlight goes for a headbutt on Gaia. The Spartan is rocked, but manages to stay on her feet, and displays her quick reflexes by landing one of her own on Moonlight! Like Gaia before her, the Master Sister staggers, but does not fall over, and promptly prepares to engage her opponent again...only for Gaia to take her down with a big clothesline! The Master Sister is therefore the first of the two women to hit the mat, and Gaia promptly takes the opportunity to slip out of the ring herself, and go look for a weapon!
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the ring, Night Train was the first of the two smaller women to recover, and had just enough time to crawl underneath the apron before Dawn Master came to her senses. As such, when the Master Sister comes to, her opponent is nowhere to be found, leaving Dawn to look around in confusion for a few moments.
Eventually, however, she decides she might as well go look for a weapon herself, and bends down to look underneath the apron for something useable...
...only to get knocked backwards by a spontaneously appearing ladder, which hits her in the stomach and sends her against the barricade!
This is, of course, the work of Night Train Ayano, who emerges from underneath the ring a moment later and slips the weapon into the ring. She then prepares to slip under the apron once more, but seeing Moonlight Master just getting to her feet a short distance away, thinks better of it, and instead props the ladder up in a strategic position. She quickly scurries up the steps, sizes up her only-just-recovering opponent...
…and is toppled off-balance by Carnival, who executes a missile dropkick to the ladder! Night Train goes tumbling over the ropes to the floor, and Moonlight Master is free to regain her bearings and get to her feet unimpeded!
While all this has been going on, Gaia has managed to produce a table from underneath the ring. Before she can so much as slip it into the squared circle, however, she is confronted by Aurora Master, who distracts her the best way she knows how – with a few choice words. At first, the Spartan does her best to ignore this, continuing to pull the table from underneath the apron, but eventually, something Aurora says does hit home, and Gaia turns to the manager of the Masters, glowering at her. To her credit, Aurora does not budge, even when the taller Spartan steps in closer to her, and the two engage in a heated staredown, the table still folded and forgotten at ringside.
This ends up working against the Tag Team Champions as Night Train comes tumbling overboard as a result of Carnival Dawn's dropkick to the ladder, and lands squarely on the still folded, but nonetheless hard plywood of the table! This apparently knocks the smallest member of Hunt by Night unconscious, and has the added effect of snapping Gaia back to focus. She turns away from Aurora to check on the fallen Night Train as – her goal having been accomplished – Aurora turns away to appraise her sisters' progress.
With the ring cleared of both Hunt by Night members, Moonlight and Carnival have taken the opportunity to confer amongst themselves for a few seconds, presumably talking strategy. Moonlight has only just finished recovering by the time Aurora comes around, and not a second too soon, as Gaia slips under the bottom rope a moment later, bent on revenge!
The situation is not the most favourable for the Spartan, who finds herself outnumbered, but Gaia does not seem particularly bothered. She disposes of the onrushing Carnival with a backdrop, sending her over the ropes to join Night Train on the floor, then sidesteps Moonlight Master's attempt at a spear, slipping in behind the big blonde and pulling her into a German suplex! Moonlight goes flying over, and Gaia turns her eyes towards the toppled ladder in the centre of the ring. She steps in, pulls it upright, and prepares to start climbing. The crowd roars in anticipation as Gaia ascends to the first rung, then pushes one of her feet forward onto the second...
….and gets toppled off the ladder by a spear from Moonlight!
The move clearly takes its toll on the youngest Master Sister's shoulder, but – having achieved the desired effect of sending Gaia toppling to the mat – Moonlight barely stops to acknowledge it. Instead, she reaches down to grab the ladder, which has landed square on top of Gaia, and props it up once again. She then begins to ascend it herself, pushing both her feet onto the first rung, then second. The crowd begins to boo as Moonlight prepares to tackle the third and final rung, her eyes already turned upwards towards the belt above...
...then cheer as a small figure comes barrelling into the ring and dropkicks the opposite side of the ladder, causing it to topple! Realising what is about to happen, Moonlight reaches for the belt directly overhead, seeking to grab onto it, but to no avail; her fingers miss the target and she is sent crashing to the mat once again, the ladder falling on top of her!
With her opponent safely out of contention, Night Train is free to check on her partner. Gaia is still somewhat groggy, but is slowly shaking off the cobwebs from the tumble a moment earlier, and seems as though she will be able to continue. Having made sure of this, Night Train turns around, preparing to engage Moonlight once more...
...and gets blasted with a table to the face from Carnival Dawn!
Having managed to carry out her plan, the smallest of the Master Sisters gives herself a pat on the back, which the crowd do not at all appreciate. However, Dawn is smarter than to let go of the table, as an increasingly conscious Gaia is still lurking nearby. The wildest of the Masters therefore holds the implement up as a shield as she steps back to check on her sister, who is still out cold. Her eyes dart between Moonlight and Gaia, checking on the relative well-being of both, and after a moment, something seems to tell the smallest Master that it is safe to carry on with the match, as Carnival finally sets the table down, being careful to prop it up just in case. Then, reaching down, she pushes the ladder off Moonlight, giving her sister room to recover unimpeded.
Carnival is still holding the ladder when a flash of movement brings her attention back to the match – and just in time! Gaia has profited from the Master Sister's preoccupation with her partner to fully recover, and is now barrelling towards Carnival. A flash of panic crosses the Master Sister's eyes as the big Spartan barrels towards her, but is replaced a moment later with a look of malevolent determination. As Gaia comes ever closer, Dawn holds onto the ladder with both hands...
….and swings it into the Spartan's torso!!!
The force of the blow sends Gaia reeling back, but it appears as though the Greek will be able to stay on her feet. Foreseeing this, Carnival switches the position of the ladder, holding it parallel to her body, and rushes forward, using the household implement as a battering ram, with which to knock the wind out of Gaia and send her flying towards the ropes!
This time, the impact is too much for the Spartan, who falls against the ropes in a seated position, clearly too groggy to react. Seeing her chance, Carnival places the ladder across Gaia's face and takes a few steps back, clearly intending to somehow throw it against the Greek and cause even more damage. She sizes Gaia up, and prepares to lunge forward...
...only to be dropkicked in the back by a recovered Night Train, and topple face-first onto the ladder herself!
The crowd erupt as the green-haired half of the Tag Team Champions holds an arm up in celebration, then leans in to pick up Carnival. As she does, she looks back and forth between the crowd directly across from her and the table her opponent set up earlier, a mischievous grin dawning on her features. The fans give a huge cheer as Night Train brings the firmly secured Carnival closer to the propped-up implement, releases her for a fraction of a second...then connects with a hurricanrana, sending Dawn crashing through the table!
She barely has time to celebrate, however, as no soon has she returned to her feet than she is faced with the wrath of the other half of the challengers. The recovered Moonlight is quick to bring Night Train to her feet, and even quicker to connect with a front suplex, throwing her overhead and onto the centre of the mat. She then rolls Carnival off the now-broken table and disposes of both halves. Only after she has done so does she once again turn toward Night Train...
...only to find her running in with a hurricanrana! The Hunt by Night member wraps her legs around Moonlight's head...
...and gets dropped on her head, as the big blonde converts it into her trademark sitout powerbomb! The Tag Champion falls limp to the mat, and Moonlight finds herself with a few seconds in which to operate!
Knowing what the best way to win this match is, the big blonde does not hesitate. She yells out for Aurora to find her a ladder, then steps in close to the recovering Gaia. Profiting from the fact that her opponent is recovering with her back to the action, Moonlight has no difficulty shoving the Spartan out of the ring and onto the floor, and retrieving the ladder lying beside her!
As she brings the step-ladder to the centre of the ring again, and props it up, she is delighted to see her sister slide in an additional ladder, along with a chair. Still keeping tabs on her falling opponents, Moonlight reaches in to pick up the chair, draping across the still-prone form of Night Train Ayano before connecting with a huge stomp to the sheet metal, which causes it to impact against the Ayano clan member's head!
Having ensured her opponent stays down for a moment longer, Moonlight is finally free to prop up the ladders at her leisure. She sets the first one up underneath one of the belts, then prepares to do the same for the second...
...only to find her hand stayed. Grinning up at her, her groggy but recovered older sister indicates she will do it herself, and for 'Moon-Moon' to make sure Gaia does not interrupt them.
Reassured that her sister is all right, Moonlight promptly acquiesces – and not a moment too soon, as the indefatigable Spartan is once again sliding into the ring, preparing to engage them. Being alert, however, Moonlight is able to intercept, engaging Gaia and lifting her into a front suplex...which ends up sending the Greek tumbling onto one of the ladders! Carnival is, at first, slightly miffed by this turn of events, but quickly sees an opportunity and reaches in to retrieve the chair lying near Night Train. She hands it to Moonlight, and her sister does not need telling what to do twice – she lifts the chair high above her head, and sends it hurtling down against Gaia's skull! The metal impacts against the bone with a loud 'thud', and the Spartan's face connects with the metal face-first, her body going limp a moment later.
Now firmly in control, and with time to work at their leisure once again, the Master Sisters are free to shove the Greek off the ladder and once again prop it up beside the one Carnival had been taking care of. They look up at the belts hanging from the ceiling, then at each other, safe in the knowledge that neither member of Hunt by Night can stop them. Then, in unison, they begin to climb their respective ladders, pushing themselves up onto the first rung...
….then the second...
...and the third...
...before Moonlight suddenly topples forth, her ladder folding up behind her!
Befuddled for a moment, Carnival looks around to see what might have caused her sister to fall, and quickly spots the culprit. Night Train Ayano is only just recovering from the baseball bat slide she has executed on the feet of the ladder when the smaller Master Sister comes crashing down onto her, with a big senton bomb off the ladder! The green-haired fan-favourite goes down once again, and Carnival regains the upper hand for her team!
Knowing she has no time to lose, Carnival quickly props up the toppled ladder again, all the while shaking Moonlight to help her regain consciousness. As the blonde begins to stir, her sister heaves a sigh of relief, and quickly goes about scaling the ladder she has just set upright. From there, she sizes up the still-prone Night Train, spins herself around, and takes off with her trademark shooting star press...
...WHICH MISSES, as Night Train rolls out of the way!
The fans erupt as the Ayano clan member buys herself a few moments with which to return to her feet. Once in an upright position again, Night Train does not hesitate, and promptly leaps onto the ladder, as nimbly as her battered and bruise muscles will allow her. From there, it is her turn to size up Carnival, as she prepares to launch off with her own, patented 450 Phoenix splash. The fans cheer in anticipation...
...then groan, as the ladder is pushed off-balance yet again by a recovered Moonlight!
The Sister's relief is short-lived, however, as Night Train thinks on her feet, and quickly executes one of her madcap stunts. As she feels herself falling, she somehow manages to spin around, balance herself off the handle of the ladder for a moment, and push off onto a missile dropkick, which hits Moonlight square in the face! The blonde goes hurtling down to the mat, and Night Train is left as the only woman standing yet again!
Knowing there is little she can do without her partner, the smallest half of Hunt by Night promptly slides out of the apron to rummage for weapons once again. She dives under the apron, and gives off an exclamation of joy; a moment later, she resurfaces, clutching a plywood table. She slides it into the ring, then prepares to clamber to the apron herself...
...only to be taken out by a suicide dive from Carnival, whom she had forgotten about in her excitement! Both women go down, and for a moment, all four contestants are down for the count!
This being a no-countout contest, the referee does not bother undertaking a ten-count; instead, he checks on the state of each of the athletes closest to him, to make sure they can continue. Moonlight is stirring, and thus deemed fit to continue, but Gaia is a source of worry; the Greek is still down, a long moment after having been struck with the chair by Moonlight. As the referee checks her pulse, however, there is movement from the Spartan, bringing a glimmer of hope to the audience; a glimmer which only burns brighter a moment later, as Gaia begins to push herself upright!
On the outside, Night Train and Carnival are still feeling the effects of their collision, so fans' attentions are firmly in the ring as the two big women push themselves to their feet. Moonlight is the first to recover, and promptly steps in to retrieve the groggy Gaia. She picks her opponent up and flings her over her shoulder for a powerslam...but the Spartan is somehow able to slip off! Noticing this, Moonlight begins to spin around, only to find her arm trapped by Gaia, who promptly slips her head underneath her opponent's other armpit. A moment later, the Greek is connecting with a devastating Charybdis lariat...onto the same ladder she had been lying on a moment earlier!
The threat of Moonlight dealt with, Gaia is finally free to put some distance between herself and her opponents, and regain her bearings. As her brain begins to come into gear, she decides to profit from her respite to fetch some additional weapons, and slips out of the ring. Spotting this, Aurora comes rushing around the ring, but cannot prevent the Greek from sliding in a chair. Gaia is just a moment too late to use it on the Master Sisters' manager, but this does not stop her from laying out Aurora with a big clothesline, putting an end to her threat, at least for the time being.
With the manager out of action, Gaia has a few more seconds in which to rummage under the ring, and eventually produces another table. She slips it into the squared circle as well, then stands up, preparing to climb onto the apron and re-enter the ring.
As she does so, she grabs the chair she has recently acquired and scouts the surrounding area. Seeing Moonlight only just beginning to stir, the Greek's mind is set at ease, and she goes about propping up the table she procured from under the apron. Having set it up, she once again grabs hold of the chair, keeping it at hand as she makes sure there is no danger nearby.
As all this is going on, on the outside, both Carnival and Night Train have managed to recover. The Master Sister is first on her feet, and promptly takes to the apron, climbing onto it and rolling underneath the bottom rope. She seems poised to return to action but, seeing Night Train pulling herself to her own feet, thinks better of it, instead climbing the nearby turnbuckle and sizing up her opponent below. Then, as Night Train turns around, she takes off with a missile dropkick...
...which Night Train dodges! Carnival connects with only the barrier, which comes crashing down! She fights through the pain and scrambles to her feet, but Night Train is waiting, and a moment later, Carnival goes down to the Train Wreck split-legged stunner!
Satisfied her opponent is down for the count, Night Train joins Gaia at the far end of the ring. Seeming pleased to see her partner, the Greek whispers a few words to the joshi, presumably talking strategy.. Night Train retorts with some of her own, and the Greek frowns pronouncedly. Gaia shakes her head vehemently, and points at Moonlight, indicating Night Train should help her remove the ladder from underneath their still prone opponent. This, the two manage to do as a team, with Gaia shoving Moonlight aside while Night Train slides the ladder out from underneath her. Once this has been accomplished, the two set about propping up the implement.
Before either of them can finish doing so, however, their attention is drawn to a small figure streaking across the ring. Carnival Master has returned to the fray! Gaia instructs Night Train to begin climbing the ladder as she deals with the smallest Master Sister, and promptly engages Carnival! The Master Sister leaps into a hurricanrana, only for Gaia to duck down and reverse it into a big back body drop! She quickly spins around and picks up Carnival, but a headbutt to the gut sends her reeling back, just enough for Carnival to scramble to her feet and connect with a running dropkick! Gaia is thrown against the ropes, and Dawn runs in looking for a hurricanrana, but the Greek is quickest on the uptake, and throws her over to the outside yet again!
Her threat disposed of, Gaia looks in the direction of Night Train....and is horrified by what she sees. Rather than having retrieved the belts, her partner instead took the time to drape Moonlight Master across the table and ascend to the topmost rung of the ladder, where she sits perched, looking down. As she catches Gaia looking in her direction, she grins, gives a thumbs up and yells 'WATCH NIGHT TRAIN!' Then, before the mortified Gaia can move quickly enough to stop her, she dives off with a 450 Phoenix splash, putting both herself and Moonlight through the table!
Seeing this, Gaia's face reflects an expression of panic for a moment. Displaying her usual nerves of steel, however, the Greek quickly regains control of her own senses and steps in to finish the job herself. She takes a moment to size up the ladder, as if convincing herself it is still there, then steps in towards it...
...and feels her head get grabbed, as a groan emerges from the crowd! She begins to spin around, but Carnival Dawn exhibits perfect timing, flooring her with the jumping cutter she calls the Master Plan! Gaia goes down face-first, and Carnival suddenly finds herself with free access to the ladder!
Being far quicker than the Spartan, the smallest of the Master Sisters promptly scurries across the ring, not even bothering with the first rung in the stepladder and vaulting directly onto the second! She panics as the stepladder wobbles, and steadies herself, but manages to avert disaster, as the implement eventually falls back onto all four legs. Carnival heaves a sigh of relief and quickly ascends to the third rung. Still unopposed, she then experimentally climbs onto the flat top surface of the ladder, stretching towards the belts...
...and feels the steel giving way beneath her feet!
Acting on instinct, she leaps up, rather than down, looking below to see Night Train crashing to the floor along with the ladder. Her leap of faith is successful, however, and Carnival finds herself holding onto the two belts, a hand in each one, her feet dangling above the ring!
The crowd initially groan, but then cheer, as Night Train makes a grab for the Master Sister's legs. Carnival kicks and thrashes wildly, but Night Train continues attempting to pull her down. The Master Sister holds onto the titles for dear life, however, and the joshi's mission proves difficult; even still, Night Train refuses to yield, and when she next attempts to pull her oppponent down, she is successful. Carnival Master comes tumbling down...
….but so does the hook with the belts, still held in her grasp!!! Before Night Train can even process what is happening, the bell is ringing, signalling the crowning of new Tag Team Champions!
WINNERS in 25:58 and NEW UKWF Tag Team Champions: The Master Sisters
As the realisation of what happened slowly dawns on her, Night Train is dumbstruck. As the recovered Aurora slides into the ring and hugs her sister, to the displeasure of the crowd, the joshi can do little but look on in horror at what she has caused to happen. She is still on all fours, incredulously staring, as her two opponents attempt to revive their third sister, gushing about what has happened.
The situation becomes even worse a moment later. As Aurora and Carnival prop up Moonlight over their shoulders and do a preening lap of honour, the medics finally manage to revive Gaia Galanos, by splashing water on her face. Groggy at first, the Greek is suddenly sobered up by the sight of her opponents parading around the ring with their newly-acquired belts. One look at Night Train, still unable to react, tells her the rest of the story, and a deep frown furrows the Spartan's brow.
Her partner, who has made eye contact, notices this, and promptly rushes over to apologise, but it is to no avail; Night Train's protestations fall on deaf ears, as an uncommonly unforgiving Gaia merely turns her back to her partner. Night Train's apologies intensify, the joshi practically pleading at this point, but still the Spartan is unmoved; rather than give the joshi words of reassurance, Gaia instead physically pushes her away, causing her to stumbled into a seated position. It is from this vantage point that Night Train watches her partner sullenly make her way backstage, not so much as looking back once to check if the Ayano clan member is following her.
It is on Night Train's tearful countenance, and the sounds of 'Heavy Metal Suicide' by Ringo Deathstarr echoing around her, that the feed slowly fades to black, ending Night One of UKWF's year-end spectacular.
