The scene opens to show Lowri in the living room of her home in Cardiff. Sat on the floor, beside a Christmas tree, Lowri is wearing a pair of light blue jeans, and a red Christmas jumper, which has images of reindeer and snowflakes on it; she smiles at the camera, and speaks.
‘Christmas is just a couple of weeks away, with the year’s end not much further behind. However, there’s still time for the final UKWF show of the year, Challenge of Champions, at which Neal Durden and I will have our sights set on defeating the Australian-American Connection, to become the next challengers for the Tag Team Championships - I haven’t written a Christmas wish list, but if I had, a win in that match would be at the top of it.’
Lowri nods.
‘It’s only five or six weeks since Neal and I were on the same side as Valerie and Oscar in an eight person tag match, and while I would like to think of them as friends, rather than enemies, I won’t have any conflicting emotions come Sunday evening.’
She now shakes her head.
‘There might not be the same animosity between us and the Australian-American Connection that there has been between us and, say, the Best of British, but we won’t be pulling any punches, and I know they won’t either; it’ll be two teams giving it their all until one pair - me and Neal, hopefully - triumphs.’
Lowri glances over her shoulder at the Christmas tree. She the looks back to the camera.
‘The first few months of my wrestling career have been a whirlwind, in UKWF and elsewhere, but I’m yet to lose a match, and now I want to close out the year with another victory - and with what’s at stake, a win against the Australian-American Connection could lead to even bigger success for me and Neal.’
There is a small sigh from Lowri, before she continues.
‘I’m kind of the odd one out in this match. I mean, Valerie and Oscar have both been vocal about wanting a shot at the titles, and Neal had talked about wanting greater opportunities, even prior to what he said at No Turning Back. I, on the other hand, have not given much thought to potential title shots, and have simply concentrated on winning my matches - but now that Neal and I find ourselves in this position, I’m determined not to let this chance pass us by; I guarantee we’ll do our utmost to beat the Australian-American Connection, and earn ourselves a shot at the tag titles.’
Lowri stands up.
‘Valerie and Oscar, in eighteen days’ time, I hope you both get all of the gifts that you want. Unfortunately though, you won’t like what you’re going to receive this weekend, as on Sunday, Neal and I will give you…’
Pausing, Lowri licks her lips.
‘...a nightmare before Christmas.’
As Lowri then grins at the camera, the scene fades to black.

 The Christmas Season had arrived in the downtown section of London. Pictures of Santa Claus, reindeer, snowmen and Angels all the lined the windows of each shop. Valerie Holcomb and her sister Bobbi Gene were enjoying the cool breeze that was whisking through. Valerie was wearing a light pink hoodie over a cute Australian Flag t-shirt and darkly colored boyfriend jeans. Her hair was tossed up into a sharp ponytail as her eyes were covered with Sterling silver sunglasses with a dark tint to them.
"I just love this time of year. Every shop is so festive with their lights and everyone is so prim with kind remarks. This reminds me of the tag team match Oscar and I are scheduled to partake in at Challenge of Champions. Neal and Lowri have done extremely well since arriving on the scene. They have mowed down almost every tag team that has stood across the ring from them," Valerie begins while running her fingers across the glass window of one shop.
The shop had false snow across it which caught the young Aussie's eye. Her sister Bobbi tilted her head while scratching the side of her head.
"Did you just say almost?" questions Bobbi.
"Yes, I did say almost Bobbi. Because while Neal and Lowri have done extremely well against numerous tag teams here. There is one tag team they have yet to test themselves against and that's us. Yes, we do have a tremendous amount of respect for you guys but you must understand where we are coming from. Since our disappointing loss back at Smells Like Team Spirit. Oscar and I have been hell bent on capturing what should be ours. Just like you, we also have been on an incredible roll and it won't stop because of you two. In fact, it will continue because while you two have had a measurable amount of success thus far. We still have more to prove. We have more to lose if we fail. Oscar and I made ourselves a deal that we will do whatever it took to walk away as tag team champions. If it means we stop you two from going further then that is what we will have to do. Try not to make this into a personal battle because as you have seen in recents weeks. We are best when you are focused on other things. We are driven to succeed and come Challenge of Champions. We will drive our success over you," says Valerie as she shrugs her shoulders.
"No matter what guys, you will still have to ask yourselves. Do you have THE RIGHT STUFF? Well, do you? Guess we will find out huh," chuckles Valerie as she and Bobbi continue walking down the sidewalk as the signs of Christmas continue to make both girls smile. |
