Following the Iron Man Tag Team Championship match which headlined UKWF Glory Through Iron, sources close to management have spoken of controversy surrounding that bout's outcome.
According to the same source, who wishes to remain anonymous, part-owner Stella Chalmers-Blythe would have contested Gaia Galanos' and Night Train Ayano's victory over Darrin Kisler and Andrea Kristian, citing 'unfair circumstances' for the defending Champions. Ms Chalmers-Blythe was reported as stating that Darrin Kisler's ejection from ringside, moments before the time limit expired, had significantly tipped the scales towards the challengers, and that the acting referee should have either allowed Kisler to remain at ringside, or declared the bout a no-contest.
The source also reported that the UKWF part owner would reportedly have gone as far as to revoke Hunt by Night's status as Tag Team Champions, only to see her efforts nullified by co-owner and ex-husband, James Kensington. Kensington would reportedly have defended the referee's decision, and declared the match outcome did not circumvent any company rules, and was therefore legitimate. The UKWF founding partner is further quoted as stating that, should they want an opportunity to change the current title situation, Love & Hate would be free to make use of the automatic rematch clause their former reign has earned them.
At close of press, the matter reportedly remained unsettled, and was thought to be causing significant friction at UKWF headquarters.
Stella Chalmers-Blythe is known to have had previous issues with one-half of the Tag Team Champions, namely Gaia Galanos, with whom the part-owner has clashed on several occasions whilst in charge of Girl Power Wrestling. Whether or not this history would have influenced her actions with regards to this match remains unclear. Similarly, it is up for debate whether or not Mr. Kensington's personal feelings towards his co-owner might have had an impact on his end of the proceedings.
More on this as we know it.
