UKWF Championship Tournament FINAL
UKWF Championship Match
Skylynn Reed v Sterling Everett v Ursula Areano
Katherine looks over the crowd a moment, then flashes Skylynn a grin, before announcing:
Katherine Kensington: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall, with a thirty minute time limit, and it will determine the inaugural UKWF Champion!
A cheer from the crowd, as the girl continues:
Katherine: Already in the ring, from Malibu, California, USA, weighing 122 pounds...the winner of the third qualifying match this evening...SKYLYNN REED!
Skylynn holds up an arm as Riot by Cole Rolland & Lauren Babic starts up on the Electric Ballroom's sound system.
Kerry: Malibu, California...that's where I worked before, you know, dear. Good times...
As Kerry sighs about her previous commentating tenure, 'Riot' dies down, to be replaced a moment later by the guitar riff of "Live Like An Animal", which kicks in as the lights flicker. Sterling Everett walks on the entrance stage, his barbed wired cricket bat in hand. He marches towards the ring to a chorus of boos from the fans. He places his bat by one of the corners of the ring and climbs into the ring. He takes off his tanktop and throws it down to ringside before moving to his corner.
Katherine: And her opponent, from Birmingham, West Midlands, weighing 250 pounds...the winner of the second qualifying match of the evening...STERLING EVERETT!
Kerry: There he is! The future Champion!! Look at the muscles on that man!
Before Kerry can gush any further, however, Evanescence's "Weight of the World" is heard on the sound system. Ursula comes out from behind the curtain. When she gets to the ramp, raises her arms feeling the energy of the crowd. She walks down the length of the ramp, swinging both her hips and her arms. She enters the ring and walks over to the ropes, standing on the bottom rope and bending over to smile at the fans in the first few rows. She then gets off the ropes and walks to one side of the ring and waits for the officials to start the match.
Katherine: And their opponent, from St. Louis, Missouri, USA, weighing 125 pounds...she is the winner of the FIRST qualifying match of the evening...URSULA AREANO!!
Baz: Ooerr...there's a bird you don't want mad at yez!
Kerry: Muscles on a woman are so unbecoming...!
Once all three contenders are in the ring, Katherine primly steps off, allowing the three to step closer to one another. Sterling glowers at the two women but, to their credit, neither backs off from the 250-pound man.
Kerry: Look at the intensity of Sterling Everett! He is the definition of Champion! These two girls stand no chance!
Baz: We'll 'ave to see, won't we?
Kerry: ...not really...
As the three competitors face off against one another, the camera pans to another section of the Electric Ballroom, where a man makes his entrance to a small cheer from nearby fans. '
Kerry: Viewers familiar with American independent wrestling may recognise the man who just made his entrance at the far end of the room as Mark Storm, former EWC World Heavyweight Champion. Mr. Storm has signed with UKWF, but is not scheduled to appear here tonight, and has decided to join us as a spectator!
Baz: Always good t'do a bit o' scoutin' before'and, innit?
Kerry: Yes, he will be wanting to see what he is up against in his new company...
Before the two announcers can discuss the new arrival any further, however, the bell rings, signalling the start of the match!
Straight away, Sterling shows what he is in London for by ramming the two women with clotheslines! Both females hit the mat, and Everett chooses to pick up Ursula. As he is setting her into position for a powerslam, however, he gets dropkicked in the back by the plucky Sky! He whirls around, glowering, and picks the young redhead up instead, delivering a powerslam to
her!
Baz: Blimey! That's got ter hurt...
As Sky hits the mat, however, the recovered Ursula comes from behind and grabs a headlock on Sterling. The Brum Bruiser shoots an elbow out, breaking the hold, then turns around swinging a lariat! Thinking on her toes, however, Ursula dodges, and goes behind the bigger man for a suplex – an impressive feat of strength considering the weight difference!
Both competitors roll through to their feet just as Skylynn is starting to recover. They pay the youngster no attention, however, as Ursula lunges at Sterling yet again! This time, it is the Brum Bruiser who dodges, and when Ursula tries to turn around, there is a spear waiting for her! The force of the impact sends the Argentinian toppling over the top rope to the outside, and Sterling turns his attention back to the groggy Sky!
Kerry: Oh dear...
Sterling picks Skylynn up and sets up a spinebuster. As he is lifting the youngster, however, she escapes by way of a headscissors! She runs over to the ropes and tries a springboard back elbow, which rattles Everett and sends him stumbling back. Skylynn rolls over to her feet and seeks to capitalse with a running single-leg dropkick. The Brum Bruiser sees it coming, however, and ducks, throwing the Aussie to the outside with a back body drop!
Now alone in the ring, Sterling takes a moment to pace the ring and flex to the crowd, who seem divided between cheering the big man and booing his cocky demeanour. Sterling does not seem to care one way or another, and continues to pose and throw verbal barbs at assorted fans.
This, however, ends up costing him, as it allows Ursula Areano to re-enter the ring at her leisure, creep up from behind, and land another German suplex! She keeps her hands locked around Everett's waist, and lands a second! She then twists around once more and lands a third, really displaying her strength!
Baz: Bloody 'ell! Wouldn't wanner be her bloke if that's how she is when she's mad...
Ursula pops up to her feet again and raises an arm, acknowledging the good reaction the crowd are now giving her. She turns back to Sterling, intending to cover him...
...and finds a diving Skylynn hurtling her way!
The Aussie lands on the Argentine with a big splash, taking the larger woman down but wearing herself out in the process. She rolls off the top of Ursula and uses the ropes to bring herself to a standing position, always keeping an eye on her opponent. The Argentine herself is scrambling to one knee, taking a moment before regaining a vertical position...
...and this ends up costing both of them. Sterling is able to recover, and rams Ursula over the top rope with a running clothesline. Sky quickly springboards onto the nearby turnbuckle, but her dive is caught by the Brum Bruiser and turned into a huge spinebuster! Sterling lets out a roar of sheer dominance, holding his arms aloft, then goes to cover Sky...
Baz: What's all this 'en?
A mutter pervades the crowd as a figure comes streaking from the back, another following closely behind, albeit more hesitantly. The two seem to be aiming for Sterling, who slides out of the ring to meet them!
Baz: It's that lad, innit?!
Indeed, it is. Gav the Chav is seeking to take advantage of the fact that there are no disqualifications in this match to get one up on the Brum Bruiser! Sterling, however, is ready, and immediately goes for the younger man, engaging him with punches. Gav, however, is able to dodge just long enough to reveal the trick he has up his sleeve. His foot shoots out and hits Sterling right between the legs!
Baz:
OUCH! Right in the bits!
The Championship contender kneels in pain – even a man his size is not immune to such a shot – at which point Gav's girlfriend adds insult to injury by squirting him in the eyes with her concealed bottle of perfume!
Baz: That's not right, luv!
Kerry: I must agree. These people are
most aggravating! And attacking my poor, darling Sterling of all people! Shocking!
The distraction having proven effective, Gav and Shazza promptly leave the ringside area, returning to the back under a shower of boos from the crowd. These turn to cheers, however, as inside the ring Skylynn gets to her feet, preparing to face the re-entering Ursula Areano!
Being of roughly the same size and weight, the two women engage in a test of strength, which the crowd gets behind. They jockey for position for several moments, neither quite gaining the upper hand, until Ursula is able to break through and throw Sky over with a front suplex! She whirls around quickly, waits for the youngster to get to her feet, and launches at her with a flying forearm! Sky is thrown against the ropes, but bounces off...straight into a jumping neckbreaker! Ursula lands a moment later, and crawls over for the first cover of the match!
ONE!
TWO!
...Sky gets her foot on the ropes!
Baz: She's tired, like. She 'ad 'er match just before this one, ent she?
Kerry: Yes...you are quite right. The other two have had time to recover. Which is why that young lady stands absolutely no chance whatsoever of walking out with a win! Watch, darling...she should falter at any moment now...
That does not look like happening, however, as when the two women return to their feet, Sky is able to evade Ursula's attempt at a tilt-a-whirl guillotine choke! She reverses it into a hurricanrana, then hurtles towards the ropes seeking a respite!
This, however, allows Ursula to recover, and by the time Skylynn goes to climb the turnbuckle, the Argentinian is on her yet again. The two women therefore engage in a corner punch-out, trading blows and each seeking to obtain the upper hand!
Baz: Wicked! I loves me some brawlin'...!
Kerry: ...evidently...
At length, Ursula is able to land a final punch on Skylynn and throw her against the turnbuckle! She then backflips to the centre of the ring, measures up her opponent, and launches into a handspring splash! The move connects, and Skylynn is pinned to the corner! Then, as Ursula moves to the side, she aalows herself to slip down the turnbuckle.
Kerry: What did I tell you, Barry? Already she is losing wind...
Indeed, Ursula is now in control, as she picks Skylynn up and lands another German suplex! She then eyes the turnbuckle, then the crowd, who give her a cheer, and finally the turnbuckle again. She nods to herself and begins to climb it, wanting to end this and win the UKWF Championship!
Baz: Ooer! Look out below!
Ursula looks down, measuring Skylynn for her patented shooting star legdrop, Death From Above. She takes a deep breath and prepares to launch...
...only to topple forward and fall off the turnbuckle!
Baz: ...wha'...?
Kerry: STERLING!!! STERLING IS BACK!!!
Indeed, the Brum Bruiser seems recovered, and earns the boos of the crowd by pushing Ursula off the turnbuckle and denying her the win! The Argentine quickly rolls through to her feet, glowering daggers, but is powerless to prevent a spear! Sterling lets his momentum carry him to the ropes, but grabs hold of them to stop himself. He then waits for Ursula to return to her feet before taking off running! He leaps for a leg lariat...
….but gets floored by a flying forearm instead!
Baz: GET IN!
The fans cheer as Ursula begins taunting Sterling, waiting for him to get up. As soon as he does, she takes off, leaps over him and lands a float-over DDT! She covers!
ONE!
TWO!
...Sterling kicks out!
Ursula shakes her head in frustration, but starts over, bringing Sterling to his feet. The Brum Bruiser, however, surprises her by landing a headbutt to the Argentine's stomach, rattling her! Ursula goes tumbling back, and Sterling gives chase, looking for a Yakuza Kick...
...which Ursula dodges! The Brum Bruiser connects with nothing but the ropes, and Ursula pops up behind him to hit him with a jumping neckbreaker!
Baz: BLOODY 'ELL! The gel's on fire, so she is!
Indeed, Ursula is picking up momentum, and thumps her chest, letting out a scream that gets her a cheer from the crowd. She then turns back towards Sterling and begins measuring him up as he rolls through to a vertical position. No sooner has he done so that she hits him with her running Argentina Train dropkick, sending him hurtling back towards the corner to smash back-first into the post!
Kerry: NO! STERLING!!
Baz: Easy, luv...'e'll live.
The fans cheer as Ursula picks Sterling up out of the corner and goes for a front suplex...
'
...only for the Brum Bruiser to land another headbutt, sending her reeling back and causing her to lose her balance as she trips over the recovering Skylynn! Both women go back down, and Sterling sees his chance!
Kerry: This could be it! Go on, Sterling! Go on, dear!
And on Sterling goes. Crossing the mat quickly, he picks up Ursula yet again, setting her up for, then delivering, the Texas Tower Bomb he calls Road to Hell!
Kerry: YES!! HE GOT HER!! NEW CHAMPION!! NEW CHAM--
The announcer's jubilant cry dies in her throat at the same time a similarly jubilant roar emerges from the crowd. Sensing something is not right, Sterling turns around...
...and finds himself at the receiving end of a flying Skylynn!! The youth stalls on top of the bigger man for a moment, then drives him down, completing the leaping DDT! Skyfall connecting!!!
Kerry: NO!!!
The referee drops down as Skylynn covers Everett!! The crowd counts along gleefully!
ONE!
TWO!
Kerry: NOOOOOO!!!!
THREE!!!
The Electric Ballroom erupts as Skylynn rolls off the top of Sterling Everett. Judging by the look on the youngster's face, she has a hard time believing the situation herself. It becomes official a moment later, however, as Katherine Kensington announces:
Katherine: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this match, and your first EVER UKWF Champion...SKYLYNN! REED!!!
WINNER in 20:20 and first ever UKWF Champion: Skylynn Reed
Baz: Bloody 'ell! She's done it! The young'in got 'im!!! She got 'im, Kerry!!! Back t' back matches, an' she did it!!
Kerry: Yes...I know that, unfortunately...
The announcer's choked tones find their echo in the Brum Bruiser's face, as he slaps the mat in frustration from having been so close. As he rolls to his feet, it is clear he is considering a post-match attack on the new Champion, whom he graces with a murderous look. Eventually, however, he opts against it, opting to merely retreat backstage, shaking his head forlornly. As for Ursula Areano, she is helped to her feet by EMTs, just in time to join the referee in holding up Sky's hand. A close-up angle picks up the tears running down the Aussie's face as she is given her new title, which she holds up to the crowd. The ensuing roar of delight nearly drowns out Kerry's final words of the broadcast:
Kerry: Ladies and gentlemen, this is all the time we have for this evening. Thank you for joining us in this inaugural broadcast for the United Kingdom Wrestling Federation. We hope you will tune in again next time. Until then, I have been Kerry Buckingham, alongside Barry Jones, signing off.
Baz: Toodle-pip!
Shortly thereafter, the stream comes to an end.
