The reflection of my blue championship hit me right in the eye, distracting me from the piece of paper I was writing.
The blue and gold color fit me to a tee, but that it was to be expected, it was custom made by Katherine after all. I used it for a brief period of time back in HKW, my Superior Championship.
That was the last time I was in a ring not over shown by my younger sisters. I never hold a legitimate championship, unlike Moonlight, and soon they both get the chance to be champions, making me left out… again.
I look back to the piece of paper, my way out.
: IT’S A BLASTOISE!
I turned around right in time to get hit in the face with a phone making my nose hurt even more and my glasses to fly out of my face.
Carnival:
Oh, it’s just an Aurora, got like 50 of those already.
Aurora:
Ouch, what the fuck?
Carnival:
Playing the new Pokemon Moving.
Aurora:
Not gonna correct you.
Carnival:
Correct what? Oh, what’s that?
Dawn poked above my shoulder and looked at the piece of paper.
Carnival:
Oh, a sheet of music?
I quickly grabbed the paper and put it inside a shelf.
Aurora:
Yeah, an unused idea from The Last of X days…
Carnival:
Why were you looking at it?
Aurora:
No reason.
Carnival:
You don’t do things without a reason, like… ever.
I sighed.
Aurora:
Fine, look, I may want to start making music again.
Carnival:
Yeah, well, with UKWF and your Aurora Corp thingy I dunno if you’ll have time.
Aurora:
Yeah, I know, I know. But I like doing this.
Carnival:
Don’t you like doing the other things too?
No. I didn’t.
Aurora:
Well, I guess, but… yeah.
Carnival:
Anyways, you shouldn’t be doing that when we’re so close to the tournament.
Aurora:
You’re the one in the tournament… and you’re the one throwing around telephones and playing video games.
She shrugged and grabbed her phone from the ground.
Carnival:
Moonlight is training with Aunt Green right now, I’m sure we can win with her alone. Should be nice having that gold around our waist… maybe I can learn how to belly dance!
Aurora:
You never won a thing, don’t you think it’s time you actually put an effort into something?
Dawn looked at me, slightly surprised, then shrugged and left the room. I took back that sheet of music. Four years ago I was on the top of the world, thriving as a member of The Last of X, an experimental post-punk band experiencing some success in the London underground scene. All of that was ruined because of me…
Can I do it again? Can I leave all that I have now for this? What if I fail again?
Should just continue with the future I have now?
I looked at the sheet and then back at the title.
I’ll just go with what I have… for now.
