Before the evening's scheduled Main Event is set to begin, viewers streaming the event at home are treated to a recap of the events leading up to this match. The ending of the UKWF Championship match at Genesis is shown, followed by Sterling Everett's attack on both Ursula Areano and champion Skylynn Reed, during the match the two were having. General Manager Johnny Ajax is then shown making a handicap match, before the final moments of that bout are replayed. The package then moves on to Ursula's challenge to Sterling at Declared Defiance, before ending on the moment when GM Johnny Ajax sets the match up as an Iron Man contest, with himself as special referee. A moment later, the feed returns to ringside, for what promises to be an edge-of-your-seat Main Event!
30-Minute Iron Man Match: Ursula Areano v Sterling Everett
The stream returns to ringside to show UKWF Champion Skylynn Reed sitting next to Barry Jones and adjusting a headset. Kerry Buckingham gives the youngster a glower, but Skylynn chooses to ignore her, instead addressing Baz directly as he asks:
Baz: How's you, luv?
Skylynn Red: I'm doing great, thanks.
Baz: So who you got f'r tonight, then?
Skylynn: shrugs:
Skylynn:: I don't much care, really. Whoever comes at me is going to get theirs. I'm just here to take notes on both of them.
Baz: Clever gel...!
As the announcer and the Champion banter, Katherine Kensington takes to the ring to explain the rules of this match:
Katherine Kensington: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is our main event, and it is an Iron Man bout with a 30-minute time limit! The contestant who achieves the most pinfalls within that time limit will be declared the winner, and become the Number One Contender to the UKWF Championship!
The crowd cheers for a moment, before Katherine proceeds:
Katherine Kensington: Please welcome, the special guest referee for this contest, UKWF General Manager, Johnny Ajax!
The cheers intensify as Ajax makes his way down to the ring in his referee stripes.
Baz: There 'e is! The gaffer!
Kerry: Ugh! I wish he would leave well enough alone! How unfair on poor Sterling!
Baz: Nah. 'E 'ad it comin', ter be 'onest. This way, there ent gunner be no funny business, like!
Kerry seems poised to reply, but before she can put a word in edgewise, Evanescence's "Weight of the World" is heard on the sound system. Ursula comes out from behind the curtain. When she gets to the ramp, she raises her arms, feeling the energy of the crowd. She walks down the length of the ramp, swinging both her hips and her arms.
Katherine Kensington: Making her way to the ring, from St. Louis, Missouri, USA weighing 125 pounds, URSULAAA AREANOOO!!
She enters the ring and walks over to the ropes, standing on the bottom rope and bending over to smile at the fans in the first few rows. She then gets off the ropes and walks to one side of the ring and waits for the officials to start the match.
Baz: Wha' d'yer make o' this gel, Champ? Impressive, ent she?
Skylynn:: Yeah, her and I had a good match. She's strong and has a lot of fight in her. But so do I...
Baz: No doubt! An' wha' 'bout 'er opponent? On a bit of a roll, that lad is, innee?
At this point, Kerry butts in:
Kerry: And he will continue it here tonight! And next week, when he faces that girl!
Skylynn:: ...do we have a crush, Kerry?
Kerry: Of course not, you silly girl! I just recognise Champion material when I see it!
Skylynn:: You mean like back at GPW, when you always backed the wrong person?!
This leaves the Brit without a viable reply, enabling Baz and Sky to continue talking about the Brum Bruiser. And as if on cue, right that moment, the guitar riff of "Live Like An Animal" kicks in as the lights flicker. Sterling Everett walks on the entrance stage, his barbed wired cricket bat in hand. He marches towards the ring to a chorus of boos from the fans.
Katherine Kensington: And her opponent, from Birmingham, West Midlands, weighing 250 pounds...he is the 'Brum Bruiser'...STERLIIIING EVEREEEETT!!!
He places his bat by one of the corners of the ring and climbs into the ring. He takes of his tanktop and throws it down to ringside before moving to his corner.
Kerry: Now THAT is a future Champion. This girl Uriel has no chance! NO. CHANCE.
Skylynn:: Her name's Ursula, Kerry.
Kerry: ...whatever her name is...she has no chance.
Skylynn:: We'll see about that.
That much, at least, is true, as just then the bell sounds for the start of the match!
Right away, the Brum Bruiser goes on offence. He hits Ursula with a spear, throwing her down, then follows it up with an elbow drop. He gets up and delivers another elbow drop! He gets to his feet again and picks Ursula up, throwing her over with an exploder suplex!
Kerry: That is what I was talking about! Sterling has a power, an intensity, that that other girl just cannot match!
As if to give credence to Kerry's words, Sterling picks Ursula up again and hits a spinebuster. He then pulls her back to her feet, only to bring her down again with a powerslam!
Kerry: He is like a cat toying with a mouse...
Sterling roars at the crowd, who give him a round of boos, before going to pick up Ursula again...
...only for the Queen of Lucha to fight back! A punch lands to Sterling's stomach! Then another! And another! The fans erupt as Areano begins to fight back!
Baz: Tha''s my gel! Get 'im! Get 'im!
And 'get him' Ursula does, as she eventually manages to land a hard enough punch to make Sterling reel. She does not hesitate, and promptly lands a dropkick, taking the big man down! She raises an arm to the crowd, who greets her with a cheer, then turns back around to face Sterling. She waits until he gets to his feet and promptly hits him with a flying forearm! She then gets on top of the Bruiser and begins delivering punches to his face, forcing Ajax to come over and tell her to stop! She promptly does so, rolling off the top of Sterling and taking a few steps back towards the ropes.
Baz: See? 'E's bein' fair!
Kerry: ...for now...
As Sterling rolls back to his feet, Ursula once again rushes toward him; this time, however, the Brum Bruiser is alert, and throws the Argentinian over with a huge back body drop! Ursula lands hard on the mat, and Sterling is on top of her again, bringing her to her feet roughly and hitting an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! He rolls through and waits for the Argentine to recover, before ramming into her with another huge spear! He drops down for the first cover of the match!
ONE!
TWO!
---Ursula kicks out!
Baz: No' tha' time...
Skylynn:: Nope. Ursula is tougher than that. When I fought her, she kept coming back. And she's going to want to survive here tonight too. Sterling has a tough task ahead.
Sterling: Hardly all that tough...the girl is literally half his size!
Half his size she may be, but Ursula is nothing if not resilient. She kicks out of the pinfall attempt, then – when she is thrown against the post by Sterling – does just enough to avoid his splash as well! Instead, it is the Brum Bruiser who finds himself at the receiving end of a jumping neckbreaker!
Skylynn:: Good counter. See what I was talking about, Barry?
Baz: I'm seein' it, luv. I'm seein' it.
Having regained the advantage, Ursula attempts to bring the match to her own area of expertise. With Sterling still down, she pulls herself to her feet and runs towards the opposite turnbuckle, correctly judging that she will not have time to capitalise if she climbs the nearer ring post. Instead, she puts some distance between herself and Sterling, gaining a few seconds which prove crucial when The Brum Bruiser returns to his feet and gives chase, only to be met with a headscissors takedown! Ursula forward-rolls out of the move as Sterling is sent into the ropes! Then, seeing her opponent in perfect position, Ursula takes off with the Argentina Train, connecting with the double stomp to the back of Sterling and causing his body to bounce off the middle rope, where it is lying prone! The crowd gives the Queen of Lucha a rousing cheer as she pulls herself to her feet!
Skylynn:: See, there's that fighting spirit I was talking about. That's her main advantage against a bigger man like Sterling.
Kerry: Perhaps, but it won't be enough to overcome him!
At the moment, however, it does seem enough, as Ursula remains in control of the matchup. She picks Sterling up and dumps him over the ropes, before taking a few steps back. She signals to the crowd, who cheer, then vaults over the top rope with a suicide plancha...
...that Sterling rolls out of the way of!
Baz: Blimey! Tha''s got ter 'urt!
Kerry: See, that is what I mean about Sterling. He is intelligent. He would never do something daft like that and put himself at risk!
Skylynn:: ...I would...
Kerry: ...yes, dear, my point exactly.
This time, Kerry does get to drive her jab home, and the next few seconds of the streaming broadcast are very silent, at least on Skylynn's end. Meanwhile, at ringside, Sterling capitalises on his new-found upper hand by picking Ursula up and delivering a spinebuster on the floor! Ursula seems out cold as she goes down, while Sterling seems more alive than ever. He glowers at referee Johnny Ajax as he rolls back into the ring, but Ajax is not fazed by this, simply continuing the count!
FIVE!
SIX!
SEVEN!
Baz: I think she's done...
Skylynn:: Yeah, she seems out cold...
Kerry: Yay, Sterling!
Ursula is, indeed, still not moving as Ajax reaches EIGHT!
NINE!
TEN!
The bell rings, indicating a count-out fall for Sterling Everett!
1-0 at 07:50: Sterling Everett
Skylynn:: So, Sterling in the lead...but that wasn't too impressive.
Kerry: Whatever do you mean, 'not too impressive'?!
Skylynn:: Well, he just capitalised on Ursula's mistake...
Kerry: That's part and parcel of being a Champion! Tell me you never did that...!
Once again, the jab is driven home, and the table goes silent, as Sterling rolls out of the ring and brings Ursula back in. He then poses to the crowd, who once again shower him with boos, and picks the Argentine up. He whips the barely-conscious Ursula to the ropes and connects with a rolling elbow, sending her down to the mat. He covers!
ONE!
TWO!
TH---NO!! Last-minute kickout from Ursula!
Sterling is as incredulous as the crowd, and promptly gets on Ajax's case, accusing him of a slow count. The GM protests his innocence, but Sterling is having none of it, and continues to rage at him!
Baz: ...what's 'e on about?!
Kerry: What do you mean, what is he on about?! That was a blatant slow count!! The, erm, referee is clearly biased!
Baz: Was never a slow count!
Kerry: It was too! It is not my fault you chose not to see it!
The announcers' debate is cut short when Ursula, seeming to regain consciousness, profits from Sterling's momentary distraction to pull him down into a rollup! Ajax drops down and counts!
ONE!
TWO!
...ANGRY kickout from Sterling!!
Kerry: Oh, and a fast count now! I see how this is going to be!
Baz: Seemed like a reg'lar count ter me, tho'...
Skylynn:: Me, too. Both times.
Kerry: Oh, you are just incredibly biased!! Both of you!!
Sterling seems to agree with Kerry, and gets on Ajax's case again about it having been a fast count. Ajax continues to deny the Brum Bruiser's claims, until Sterling eventually relents, deeming it best to turn his attention back to the match.
Unfortunately, he does so just a moment too late – when he turns his back to Ajax and once again faces Ursula, she is on her feet and lunging at him with a leaping forearm! Sterling goes down, and Ursula covers!
ONE!
TWO!
--Kickout by Sterling!!
Kerry: HA! It's going to take more than that, darling!
Ursula seems aware of this, as right after the pin, she rolls off the top of Sterling again and prepares to capitalise on her momentum. She pulls him to his feet and delivers a German suplex, throwing him overhead! She rolls through and sees Sterling already rushing at her like a freight train! Rather than sidestep, however, Ursula wastes no time leaping over him and planting him with a float-over DDT! She rolls him onto his stomach and covers!
ONE!
TWO!
--NO! Another kickout by the Brum Bruiser!
Kerry: Sterling really is showing what he is made of here...
Skylynn:: I thought you said Ursula would not be a threat...?
Kerry: Yes, well...soon enough, she will not be. Sterling is just lulling her into a false sense of security...!
Skylynn:: Or maybe she is better than you care to admit...
Kerry has no answer for this, and the three announcers once again turn their attention to the ring, where Ursula is patiently waiting for Sterling to get to his feet. Once he does, he finds himself at the receiving end of another jumping neckbreaker! A cover ensues!
ONE!
TWO!
TH—NO!!! Another last-minute kickout!
This time, Ursula allows her frustration to show on her face somewhat. Still, she does not lose concentration, as she tosses Sterling to the ropes, then rushes in as he bounces off. A moment later, she has a tilt-a-whirl guillotine choke applied on the Brum Bruiser!
Baz: She got 'im!
Kerry: Ha! It will not work! Sterling will power out of it!
Indeed, the Bruiser seems to be doing his best to use his size and weight advantage and power out of the hold. This proves easier said than done, however, as Ursula cinches the hold in tight. Ajax asks Sterling if he wants to submit, and is bombarded with less-than-appropriate language by way of a reply, all while the big man continues to grimace in the throes of the hold.
Baz: Got a mouth on 'im, that one, don' 'e?!
Kerry: Well, if that blasted man would only leave him alone a minute, perhaps his temper would not flare so!
Skylynn:: I think it may be the guillotine, more than Ajax...but that's just me, though...
Indeed, Areano's choke attempt seems to have Sterling in dire straits, but still the Brum Bruiser keeps fighting. Tapping into an extra reserve of strength, he somehow manages to stumble backwards, ramming Ursula back-first into the turnbuckle! The Argentine loosens the hold, but does not let go, so Sterling does it a second time, slamming Areano into the ring post!
Baz: Cor! I tell ya, girls, that don't feel too good!
Ursula's reaction seems to confirm this, as the Argentinian lets go of the hold and slumps to the mat. Sterling, however, is unable to immediately capitalise, as the hold left him in a bad state. He therefore takes a few moments to recover and once again get his bearings, stumbling to the ropes and leaning against them as he catches his breath.
It is not long, however, before he is once again stalking Ursula, who is just getting to her feet at the far end. Before she can even know what is going on, she is being thrown over with a Saito suplex! Sterling rolls through and waits for Ursula to return to her feet before bursting forward with a big lariat...
...that the Argentinian dodges!
Hardly believing what has just transpired, Sterling turns around...directly into another dropkick from Ursula! The big man goes hurtling backwards towards the ropes, and Ursula is quick to capitalise with a running tornado DDT! Sterling goes down, and Ursula comes up with one arm held high in triumph!
Baz: Good 'un, that!
Kerry: You are easily impressed, darling...
Seeing her opponent is too close to the ropes to justify a cover, Ursula chooses instead to wait for Sterling to get up, a fist held back behind her head in anticipation. As the Bruiser comes to, he finds himself staring down the end of a Fist of Fury!
Ursula is just too slow to throw the punch, however, and Sterling dodges. Ursula turns around, but is powerless to avoid getting picked up by Sterling and dropped into an Extinction Agenda pumphandle neckbreaker! Sterling arrogantly covers!
ONE!
TWO!
THR---NOOOO!!! Kickout by Ursula!!
Baz: Blimey! Last bloomin' second, tha' was!
Kerry: That's because it was another. Slow. COUNT.!
The announcer is not the only one seething; Sterling, too, seems hell-bent on proving Ajax is favouring Ursula with his counts. He once again gets in the UKWF General Manager's face, not hesitating to give him a piece of his mind. Ajax once again pleads his innocence, but this time, Sterling is having none of it. As Ajax tries to tell him he is being fair yet again, Sterling shoves him irritably. The crowd gasp as Ajax stares at the Brum Bruiser for a second, incredulous...
...then calls for the bell, signalling a disqualification fall in favour of Ursula!
1-1 at 16:40: Ursula Areano
Baz: Wo' 'e do tha' for?! Daft blighter! 'E's gone an' gave the lass a fall!
Kerry: Sometimes, darling, enough is enough. Sterling knows this will not affect him. He has plenty of time to turn it around!
Indeed, the Bruiser does not seem too concerned with having lost the fall, and instead seems to be debating whether or not to further attack the GM. In the end, he decides against it, deeming it more important to win the match rather than carry out petty vendettas. He therefore turns back towards Ursula...
...only to get rocked by another leaping forearm!
Baz: You 'ad it right, Champ! That gel just won't back down!
Kerry: Ugh! Why-won't-she-stay-down?!
Seeing her window of opportunity, Ursula quickly connects with a kick to Sterling's chest, further rocking him. The Bruiser hurtles towards the corner, and the Queen of Lucha does not hesitate – a handspring splash smashes Sterling against the corner!
Baz: Ooer! Sterling Sandwich!
Kerry: It is not funny!
Coming out of the splash, Ursula hops onto the turnbuckle and delivers the standard ten punches to Sterling, who is too dazed to fight back! She then whips him out of the corner towards the far turnbuckle, sending him chest-first against it! She promptly takes off and lands yet another Argentina Train, once again crunching Sterling against the turnbuckle!
Baz: She's come alive, that lass 'as!
Kerry: Not for long, darling. Trust me.
For now, however, it does seem as though Ursula has found her second wind. After the Argentina Train, she stands behind Sterling, waiting patiently for him to get to his feet and turn around. Third time's the charm, as they say, and this time, the Fist of Fury connects! Sterling goes down like a sack of bricks, and Ursula once again celebrates with the crowd!
Baz: She got 'im with that slugger!
With her opponent out cold, Ursula has all the time in the world to pull Sterling towards the centre of the ring, away from the safety of the ropes. As she does this, she measures the distance between herself and the nearest turnbuckle. She nods her head once and walks over to the corner ringpost, beginning to climb it. Her intention is clear, and the fans roar in anticipation!
Baz: This could be it, girls!
Ursula takes a moment to cast a look around the Cr8 Lifestyle Centre from atop the turnbuckle, before taking off with the Death from Above shooting star legdrop...
...that connects with only the mat, as Sterling somehow rolls out of the way!!
Kerry: Yeeeeesssss!!!
Skylynn:: I have to give it to Sterling. He's refusing to go down just as much as Ursula here.
Kerry: Of course he is! He knows the opportunity he has here! He won't let it go to waste!
Right now, however, there is very little either competitor can do. Both Ursula and Sterling are down on the mat, worn out by both the impact of the moves performed, and the gruelling nature of the match itself! The crowd erupt into a chant of 'THIS IS AWESOME!' as both competitors writhe in the mat, trying their hardest to regain their bearings.
Skylynn:: Does anyone know how far along we are?
Baz: 'as to be twenty-odd minutes by now, don't it?!
Skylynn:: Explains why they're getting tired...
Baz: So it does. I'm tellin' you, luv, when you 'rassle f'r that long, an' you go hell f'r leather the way them two been doin'...it wears you down, so it does!
This certainly seems to be true for the two competitors, who take another long moment to crawl over to opposite sets of ropes, then painstakingly pull themselves to their feet. Sterling has a second or so advantage over Ursula, but both athletes appear too tired to immediately engage.
Eventually, the two stumble back towards the centre of the ring, and begin to explore openings. Sterling capitalises first, thinking quickly and picking Ursula up into a deadlift Bruiser Suplex! The Argentine lands hard on the mat, back first, and the Birmingham resident once again takes a moment to get his bearings. Only then does he push himself back to his feet and go to retrieve his opponent.
The groggy Ursula attempts to resist with punches to the stomach, but finds herself powerless to stop Sterling as he places her across the middle rope to deliver a rope-hung DDT! He then grabs her by the legs, wrapping them around his neck before sending her crashing forward in an inverted waterwheel slam! He crawls over, and Johnny Ajax drops to count the cover!
ONE!
TWO!
TH---NO!!!
Baz: Still some fight left in that lass!
Skylynn:: Even you can't say that was a slow one, Kerry...
Kerry: ...fine. That one wasn't...
The irritation at being unable to score a fall is now showing on Sterling's face, as he glowers at Ajax, Ursula and the crowd, indiscriminately. Still, his focus continues to be on victory, as he picks Ursula up yet again and whips her towards the ropes. As the Argentinian bounces back, she gets floored with a huge Birmingham Bomber lariat, as Sterling drops into another cover!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE?
NO!!!!
Baz: BLIMEY!!
Kerry: Oh, come ON!!! That was a fall!!!
Skylynn:: That damn near was a fall...if Ursula ends up winning this, I'll have to be careful. She's even more resistant than I thought!
In spite of himself, Sterling once again finds himself being drawn into an argument with the special referee. This time, he manages to keep his hands to himself, not wanting to risk another disqualification, but he still makes a point of voicing his displeasure in no uncertain terms. Ajax, however, stands firm, insisting it was a 2.9, but a kickout nonetheless. Sterling is visibly unhappy about this, and gives fans in attendance and at home another demonstration of his colourful language, as he tells the General Manager exactly where he can stuff his count.
Baz: Lad shouldn't spend so much time jaw-jackin'...tha''s how you end up getting' rolled u--
Before Baz can even finish his sentence, Ursula demonstrates what can happen if you spend too long arguing, and pulls Sterling into a roll-up! Ajax drops down!
ONE!

NO!!! The Bruiser reverses it into another rollup!!

THREE???
NO!!!! Sterling has grabbed the nearby ropes!!!
Kerry: See?! See how smart he is?!
Skylynn:: Have to give it to you, Kerry...you had a point there.
As Kerry (presumably) gloats, it is Ursula's turn to express her disbelief. Ajax, however, points at where Sterling's hand is still on the ropes, and the Argentinian has no choice but to relent. She painstakingly clambers to her feet, takes a step or two to the side, then waits for Sterling to get up. When he does, she lunges in again and delivers the Argentine cutter she calls Tempest Turn!!
Baz: She got 'im!!!
Kerry: NOOOO!!!
Ajax drops for the count!!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE???
NO!!! FOOT ON THE ROPES FROM STERLING EVERETT!!
Kerry: ...Phew...
Skylynn:: That was her own fault. Why didn't she pull him away from the ropes? She would have won then!
Baz: Luv..,if it was you in 'ere...would you be thinkin' at this point?
Skylynn:: ...good point.
The crowd goes absolutely bananas as an incredulous Ursula Areano kicks herself for her stupidity. A chant of 'FIGHT FOREVER' erupts from a section of the Cr8 Lifestyle Centre, and Ursula spends a moment trying to locate the source of the sound. Eventually, she spots the cluster of fans who are singing and points at them, drawing a reaction. Then, seeing Sterling is beginning to stir, she once again prepares to engage him.
The Brum Bruiser has barely finished pulling himself to his feet, with the help of the ropes, before Ursula is on him again. She throws him over with a German Suplex, then attempts to scramble to her feet quickly. She is lucky that Sterling is as groggy as she is, and equally as slow getting to his feet. As such, when he rushes at Ursula as fast as his tired legs will allow, she is able to telegraph it, and land a kick to his stomach! Sterling doubles over, and Ursula connects with another float-over DDT!
Baz: She 'as to cover 'ere!
Skylynn:: I think she has other ideas...
Indeed, Ursula is looking towards the turnbuckle, as if considering giving her finisher a second try. The crowd egg her on with another massive cheer as she stumbles towards the turnbuckle and begins to ascend...then groan as she slips off....then cheer again as she steels her resolve and once again begins to climb. She takes a moment to look around the Cr8 Lifestyle Centre, now fully in support of her, before taking off with Death from Above once again...
...but nobody home, as Sterling just about manages to move!!
Baz: WHA'?! 'E MOVED AGAIN!!!
Kerry: That's Sterling for you! Your future Champion!
Still, even though he has managed to move out of the way, Sterling is by no means recovered. Instead, having dodged Ursula's most lethal move for the second time in the match, he takes a long moment to just lie on the mat, catching his breath. Only then does he roll over onto his stomach, and painstakingly crawl over for the cover. Ajax counts!
ONE!
TWO!
THR---NO!!!
Kerry: HOW?!?!
Baz: Took too long. She got 'erself together enough ter kick out!
Sterling seems to realise this too, or perhaps he is just too tired to argue, because this time, there is no jaw-jacking with Ajax. Instead, the Brum Bruiser just crawls to the nearby ropes and pulls himself to his feet. Ursula, on the other hand, is still dazed and confused as Sterling picks her up and wraps one of her arms around his neck.
Baz: Oh dear...
The wear and tear of the match seems to have taken its toll on the Brum Bruiser, however, as he is initially unable to lift Ursula. He takes a moment to catch his breath, then tries again. This time, he is successful, and manages to land the Bruise Cruise!
Kerry: That's it! That's it! That-is-IT!
Ajax drops down as Sterling crawls over for the cover!!

---AND THE BELL SOUNDS!!! THE TIME LIMIT HAS BEEN REACHED!!!
2-1 at 29:50: Sterling Everett
Kerry: YES! YES! YES! YES!
The crowd groan in dismay as Katherine Kensington makes the announcement:
Katherine Kensington: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this match...and NEW Number One Contender to the UKWF Championship...STERLING! EVERETT!!
Kerry: I knew it! I always knew he could do it!
Baz: Tell yez what, tho'...'ell of a fight! I was dead impressed with both of 'em!
Skylynn:: Yeah, they both put up a good fight...but now I know who I have to worry about!
Indeed, as soon as he is able to get to his feet, Sterling is on the ropes staring down Skylynn:. The UKWF Champion does not back down from the challenge, instead rising from her seat to return the glare. A moment's intense staredown follows, before the Brum Bruiser regains the centre of the ring...
