HUNT BY NIGHT
Team Name: Hunt By Night
Team Members: Gaia Galanos & Night Train Ayano
Combined Weight: 300 lbs.
Team Entrance Theme: “Oblivion” by Grimes ( youtu.be/S-CYTypJRYE )
Team Entrance Description:
As “Oblivion” by Grimes hits across the arena, the lights die down. Two dark figures emerge from the entrance tunnel to a mass of cheers as a bright spotlight shines down on only them, revealing Gaia Galanos and Night Train Ayano. As Galanos makes her way to the ring, clearly focused on the match that’s about to take place, Night Train skips around her, hyping up the crowd, encouraging everyone to get on their feet.
When they approach the ring, Gaia takes the ring steps while Night Train just climbs straight in via the ring apron. Galanos walks across the ring apron as Night Train positions herself behind her on the ropes and pulls herself up as Gaia arches her back on the apron and unleashes a roar as Night Train balances on the ropes with a leg hooked over the top rope and her arms in the air. The crowd is eating it up. Night Train hops down then Gaia steps through the ropes as they speak to one another, presumably deciding who will start...
Accolades/Accomplishments:
UKWF Tag Team Champions
UKWF Tag Team of the Year, 2016
UKWF Fan Favourite (Tag Team), 2016
Alignment: Face
Allies (if any): The Ayano Clan, Eddie Ramirez
Rivals (if any): The Master Sisters
Dynamic: Both have trained under Eddie Ramirez.
Team Strengths (2 or more):
UNPREDICTABILITY. Thanks to their contrasting styles, it’s very hard to predict what these two women can and will do in the ring when competing alongside one another.
COMPLIMENTARY. Despite being a newly-formed tag team, the styles between these two women work well together. While Gaia isn’t slow, NT brings an unmatched speed to the table while Galanos brings an unrivaled ring intelligence into the mix.
ADAPTIVE. Both women are very adept at adapting to their opponent’s gameplan or even unexpected situations.
Team Weaknesses (1 or more):
SIZE. Neither Gaia nor Night Train would be considered big in the wrestling business. While Gaia does possess impressive power, she still doesn’t make up for the lack of a 250+-pound teammate.
COHESION. Although both talented, they are new at teaming so not everything might be crisp at first.
Preferred Match Type(s): Tornado Tag Team Match, Standard Tag Team Match
Least Favourite Match Type(s): Deathmatch
Team Finishers (max. 2):
-The Seismos Wreck - Night Train hits the Train Wreck (split-legged stunner on the victim), but instead of releasing them, she holds them in place in a doubled-over position, until Gaia comes charging up. NT moves at the last second before Galanos KOs their opponent with the Seismos Strike.
-Rushing Train - Gaia hits the victim with a kick rush which consists of a spinning sidekick to the gut, a front kick to the face after they’re doubled over then doubles them over again with another spinning sidekick to the gut, giving Night Train the perfect opportunity to run up from behind, leap-frog the opponent and hit the Running Train.
Team/Tandem Moves:
-Clothesline (Gaia)/Leg Sweep (Night Train)
-Mushroom Stomp (Night Train)/DDT (Gaia)
-Tandem roundhouse kicks (either both on same opponent or stereo on two opp.)
-Opposite corner Stinger splashes (they whip the opponents in, then NT runs to Gaia locking arms and spinning them around in a “do-si-do spin your partner” to build momentum before splashing)
-Tandem single leg crab on the same opponent (after a tag, will break before 5 count)
-Tandem jumping armbreaker
-Night Train applies the Tarantula near their corner, tagging Gaia in the process, she comes in and hits a big European uppercut
-Corner Crossbody to Seated Opponent/Running Boot - Galanos irish whips NT toward the victim, who is seated in the corner. NT hits her crossbody as Gaia runs the ropes and, upon her rebound, hits a boot to the victim’s chin.
-Yakuza Kick/Trapping German Suplex - Gaia sets up for the Trapping German Suplex while NT runs up and hits the victim with a Yakuza Kick which gives Gaia some momentum to transition into the Trapping German Suplex. Sometimes she’ll bridge it into a pin.
-Regal Bomb/Leg Drop Combo - Gaia hits her Regal Bomb on the victim as NT hits a Leg Drop. Usually, Gaia will follow that up by executing a Jack Knife Pin.
-Catapult/Dropkick Backbreaker - Gaia catapults/slingshots victim from the mat into a Night Train Dropkick which, in turn, causes them to fall backwards onto Gaia’s knees, executing a double-knee backbreaker.
Biography:
Simply put, Gaia Galanos had her eyes on becoming Tag Team Champion. She met Night Train while they were both training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Eddie Ramirez. After many classes alongside her, Gaia felt Night Train was a suitable partner to take a blossoming UKWF Tag Team Division by storm, and the rest is history.
